    Hi I want to convert AVIs to a format I can play on my DVD player
    My DVD player support SVCD VCD DVD-R
    I have a CD burner but not a DVD burner

    I have tried using DVD2SVCD and TEMPGENC and failed

    Is there a program you and recomment that can do this ?


    also is AVI and DivX format the same thing or are they different ?

    - I am a little frustrated but would REALLY appreciate some help

    Since you don't have a DVD burner you can convert to either VCD or SVCD. Many people try and fail on their first attempt, but stick with it. There are many useful guides on this site and others. Divx is a form of AVI, as is Xvid, Huffy and other formats.

    DVD2SVCD/Tmpgenc is a prettry easy way to convert AVI to S/VCD, need more info on how you used it...
