  1. How can I create a DVDR menu from multiple mpeg2 files with only text menu. I don't want pictures or motion. I just want text menu as such:

    Movies

    1. Movie 1 Name
    2. Movie 2 Name

    Thanks.

This would be handled with a DVD Authoring program. Check the "Tools" section at left.

The 2 most popular would be TMPGEnc DVD Author and DVD-Lab.

TMPGEnc DVD Author is the simpliest.
    DVD-Lab the most flexible.

if its mpeg extension then you can use programmes like,
    *ulead moviefactory
    *ulead workshop
there is plenty more just look in the left section,

i believe nero has the ability to create simple text menus but ive never experimented with it, hope it helps,

  4. Thanks for your replies. I am using DVD movie factory, but am not sure how to only show text and not pictures. I am taking dvd mpeg2 files to make a vob set.

    Thanks.

  5. I don't use DVD MF but most authoring programs don't allow you to make a menu within them, instead you have to make the menu in a 3rd program (eg. Photoshop) then import that bmp as an assest.

Some 'low end' authoring programs do allow you to make simple menus from within them. I thought you could do this with DVD Lab and TMPG's Authoring program. You might want to check out DVD Lab (30day fully function trial).

DVD-Lab can handle it no problem.
I have tried several of the authoring packages, I stay away from Ulead as well. Sonic's low end MyDVD is too limited and the others Reel DVD and Scenarist are too expensive.

    TMPGEnc is limited.

DVD-Lab is in the calibre of Ulead DVD Workshop and Has features found only in ReelDVD or Scenarist. Motion Menus, Switched Menus, Animated Menus, Frame Indexing.
