  1. I just got a 10-pack of regular optodiscs (not the gold ones) and I have to say that they are not that bad at all. I have always used Riteks but they're always out of stock so I went with optodiscs.

Anyone know if the gold ones are any better? These regular ones have the ugly blue tops on them.

Anyone know about durability? I don't want these optodiscs to crap out on me in a year like everyone says cheap media does.

Well, I hope you quantify that statement, as I own a Cendyne A04, and I would like to show you my new 10 piece set of coasters:

    Hello.

The blue one's are a tad on the ugly side.
However. I have burned 600+ over the last year with zero problems.
A friend of mine has burned 300+ with the same positive results.
All have been blue tops, I have no experience with the golds.
The first one that I burned still plays perfectly on any of my players a year later.
We both burn with pioneer 105,s.
In the reply you got from TOMMYKNOCKER.
Please note that he was using -RW.s NOT -R,s.
I have had the same dissapointing results with their rewritables on the pioneer. I am assuming that they are not supported in the pioneer,s firmware. I swithched to maxell -rw,s and they work with the pioneer.

    Best of Luck

The Gold Optodiscs are great media. I've gone through 200 disks and am awaiting another 100pack this week that I ordered from Rima.com (.82 each). Great disks at a great price.

  5. I've burned about 100 of the blue tops and close to 50 of the gold tops. There's no difference in quality. They're great.

I've had some trouble with Opodisc DVD-RWs. It resulted in a couple of coasters. Some of the DVD-RW discs don't seem to erase or burn properly. The blue top DVD-Rs are fairly decent. I've had one coaster with those, which has turned me off to them a bit. But that's one out of many burned Blue tops.
