  2. well.....how about foreign language film...i.e. crouching tiger..

i kept both the english and mandarin audio tracks....so if i get lazy, i can just listen to the dubbed english...or if i wanna watch the original, i'll go with mandarin/english subs...

also, newer DVDs include DTS audio tracks that require special DTS decoders...they are much higher quality than AC3..as you can tell by the filesize...at least twice as big..

futhermore, there could also be some director's commentary....it might just be identified as another english audio track..but it's usually smaller in filesize and is the last audio track listed...

why is it called AC3 and the other AC6
is one main audio file or something?

  4. no...main audio track could be of any format...just means how many unique channels...the more the better, but bigger filesize...

  6. yes...AC3 6 channel means dolby digital 5.1 surround....

AC3 2 channel is just regular dolby digital surround...

both will work with all systems....only DTS requires special decoder, but better quality

    DTS>5.1 DD>DD
