    I have the Band of Brothers on VHS, recorded at EP. I have the VCR connected to my ASUS capture card. I have tried a few software packages, and everything looks crappy. I lose all kind of frames and audio is nonexistent. Is it the card? I have ASUS K7V motherboard, Athon 700Mhz, 128MB PC133 RAM, Maxtor 20GB 7200RPM ATA66 HD, and ASUS V6600 Deluxe (Geforce 256). Any suggestions?

    I use the 6800DLX Card and have no dramas.

    I use Ravisent WinDVR but don't capture at spec.
    To do a VCD, I capture at 2xCD then reencode with TMPG.
    Preserves the quality, and get very little MPEG noise. ie blocks etc.

    Your using Windows what? Have you tried VirtualDub with the HuffYUV compression codec?

    I too have a 6800 Deluxe; using VirtualDub and HuffYUV I have 0 problems and top quality.
