    Hi,

I paid for streaming video over the internet. I used microsoft media player, which buffers the streaming video and plays it back. How do I capture this video to a mpeg file? What application do I used.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

ASF Recorder would definitely be the one to use. Just do a search for it and you'll get lots of results.

How do I get the ASF recorder to work. In the readme file, it state to right-click mouse button and get the url. I tried that on the ms media player ver 7.0 and nothing happens. Can someone give me a starting point instruction. As you can guess, I am new at this.

    Thanks,

  4. Get StreamBox VCR and the patch available here: (just sign up, it takes one minute and you can use bogus info)

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzzinhornetz2001

And also get URLSnooper and ASFRecorder (all available there)

Then read these instructions and post and questions at this site

    Good Luck

NOTE: StreamBoxVCR probably won't work with password protected streams!

Right click on the embedded video window and select properties. In that tab there should be an address with either http or mms,. Copy the entire address. add a / and add the file name which also appears on the tab. Don't forget to add the .asx or .asf extension or it will give you a 404 File not Found error. Put the whole thing in the File --> Get URL and press the record button and it should work.

    Hi again,

I have 1 last question. After I save the .asf file to my harddrive, which is the best application to convert it to avi format? I noticed that the .asf streaming video is not the highest quality. When I convert it over to mpeg or avi, can I get a better quality (VCD quality)?

    Thanks for the advice.

    Its been a great help,
