I know Ulead Videostudio5 which has the feature of automatically creating new files once the file limit has been reached. The feature is activated in the menu system.

I found the answer at Ulead's site. Here what the say about this issue:
"Seamless Capture – VideoStudio overcomes the 4GB video file
limitation in Windows 98 and some Windows 2000 systems (due to
the FAT32 file structure), letting you capture video files as large as
your hard drive will allow (for DV Type1, DV Type2 and MPEG
formats)."
So, for all Windows 98 users.

Yes, but how?
Do they split the file into multiple pieces, or create some kind of illegal file on your hard drive that will cause Explorer problems?Just what is this reality thing anyway? -
I have no idea how they overcoming this.
What important is they can do it.Oren M. -
In my case they split the files up into 4gb sections. If I render straight away after capture it will join them automatically, however if I leave it for later I have to put the files into videostudio in the correct order for it to render them right. Ulead VS5 is an older program and certainly not the flashest on the market, but it's ok for what I need.

My ATI card breaks files at 3.99 GB on my WinME system. This program probably does the same for you.
