  1. I've been at this for 3 months. The single blank media that came with my Sony was a Ritek 4x. I backed up my first movie and it worked in my player. I ordered a cakebox of another 100 and had great success. Then came another cakebox of 50. Many of them had playback glitches in the middle of the movie and I had to reburn them. Fustrated but confident it was just a bad batch, I ordered another cakebox of 50 (from the same company All Media Outlet (opps)). First 2 burns, again have freezes during playback on both my standalone and on my PC.

Recording the same VIDEO_TS on to a Memorex RW works just fine.

Has anyone tried to return media? How do you return a 48/50 cakebox?

Also, should I try and order Ritek from a different source? Anyone else had issues with current Ritek media?

I had a G04 that I replaced with a G05 after a year, it burned Ritek media fine for hundreds of disc, then one day I got lots of suttering with all the cheaper medias. Eventually I realized it burned the good stuff fine. I assume its because the cheaper media has less fault tolerance then the expensive stuff. Maybe the laser is a little out of alignment or something, I dunno, but Pioneer says the drive is fine. It why I got a new one.

I've had some Ritek G03's that were bad. They did not stutter, they would not burn at all. The drive would not even recognize them. I have not tried to get credit on them yet. They were also from Allmediaoutlet. I may try buying from somebody else.
