  1. Hi guys,

I am after some advice regarding printing into DVD's.

So far, I have come to the conclusion that the epson 900 seems to be the way to go, but I have also seen the casio thermal printer for sale.

This is what I want to do.

I want to make a wedding DVD that has a white background with silver lettering. I know the casio will do silver printing, but will it print on white printable CD's or will it totally fail?

    Cheers.

  2. My guess is the Casio should do what you want. BTW Epson also has the 960 printer which will print onto CDR or DVDR.

  3. Thanks, but wont the epson only print onto printable dvd's?

And wont the casio only print onto bare DVD's? i.e. non printable?

  4. I think the Casio will print onto a bare or printable DVD because it's a thermal printer. The Epson needs printable DVD's.

The Casio will only print on silver top cd's/dvd's. It will not print on printable cd's/dvd's.

  6. Rick, Do you know of any printer that will print white onto a silver DVD?

That way I can just keep the wording clear and bingo...mission complete.

  7. There are two type of printable CD/DVDs. Inkjet printable and thermal printable. With a thermal printer, you cannot print on inkjet printable cd-rs and vice versa.

There are two types of inkjet printable cd/dvds also. Inkjet printable white and inkjet printable silver.

  8. Inkjet printable silver?? OOooooohhhh!

Well, furthur to my original posting, I went and bought myself an Epson 900 (1/2 the price of a 960) and a load of white printable dvd's.

Where can I get hold of the silver printable ones?
