In Premiere, go to File - Export Timeline - to Movie. Save the file as an AVI. You should have no problems opening it up in Pinnacle.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -
There are many kinds of AVI
perhaps you should tell this user to SELECT AVI as the output format, but tell them to go to the next page in the OUTPUT SETTINGS that defines the compressor used
Also you didn't say whether PINNACLE would rather see a Microsoft format AVI or MIcrosoft DV format AVI? Which do you reccomend?
If you say that a MICROSOFT AVI is ok to bring to -pinnacle, then go to the next page and pull down the compressor settings to one of the BETTER CODEC of those installed
CODECS installed may include:
Microsoft VIDEO 1
Intel Indeo 3.3
Intel Indeo 4
Intel Indeo 5
DIVX
XVID
Animation
Video
H263
etc..
What should he use in Pinnacle 8?
also..make sure to set the output frame to 720x640 PIXELS
Otherwise, in converting from premiere's default-- in the microsoft avi stting--output must be changed from 640x480 unless you want to stretch unevenly your footage
