  1. I burnt it using nero 5.5.10.28 but I cannot open it.
it reads only 768kb if I right click properties on the cd drive,
but If I explore the directories, select all it gives me 804mb
It looks like a svcd movie, so I try PowerDVD (v2.5) but it won't open.
says unsupported format. However if I select the .mpg, it plays fine.

    the way I burn it:
    open .cue file
    select speed at 4x
select disk-at-once/96 <--- is this bad idea?
    and then click write!

can someone tell me why I got the 2 problems?
    -> shows 768kb but actually contains 804mb
-> wont be open as a cd movie, but .mpg is playable if selected manually

    thank in advance

  2. I don't use Nero for burning movies. Instead, I use VCDEasy. Simply load the cue file and burn. Go to the TOOLS section for a link. It's free.

  3. go to file (top left hand corner of nero), then go to burn image(or bin/queue - cant remember). Then file the bin/que and go....

  4. ok,
if you right click your svcd you just burned, how much space used it says?
and how you play it? I use PowerDVD but it says unsupported format.
but works if I select the .mpg file and play it.
Isnt PowerDVD suppose to play automatically from the cd?

PowerDVD plays VCD and DVD from the disc but doesn't do SVCDs. You have to change PowerDVD to "file mode" (?) and select the MPG from the directory on the disc. It will play fine at that point.

If you want disc playback for an SVCD you could try making it a mini-DVD. I've encoded to CVD (SVCD with 352x480 resolution and 48000kb sound) and burned as a mini-DVD. PowerDVD will play this right from the disc. (Your standalone DVD player will not)

If you WANT standalone playback... does it support SVCD? If not, try the VCD header trick (do a search, ... you'll find it) or re-encode to VCD. If it does support SVCD, try to demux, remux, and re-author.

    Good luck!
