  1. Alright, I just got Vegas Video 3.0c with the Mainconcept Mpeg-1/2 plugin. I Resinstalled the DivX Pro and Nimo codecs, but for some reason, Vegas will not recognize the audio, saying "Unrecognizable stream, Professional MPEG Layer 3" under properties, leaving the audio unloadable. Any help? I've tried installing and reinstalling the latest Nimo and Gordian Knot Sytem pack with no use!

    two things -

    - check the import specs and make sure that Vegas supports mp3 audio streams. it may be that it's not a supported format.

    - I have heard nothing good about the Nimo codec pack - almost everyone I've talked to about it has given me the pursed-lip head shake, and recommended either not installing it in the first place, or uninstalling it immediately and installing the codecs that I need, as I need them. Apparently the Nimo pack has the potential to screw up your system quite nicely...

  4. I know... I hate Nimo too... I only install the XVid codec, all the audio codecs, and the Morgan Multiedia Stream Switcher. About the MP3 license, how the hell do I get that?

I think vegas will handle mp3 quite well but will not let you save it unless you liscence it, but that is not your problem. It appears that you have an audio source that was encoded as a mp3PRO which is not the same thing as mp3!!!
mp3PRO is a new way of encoding audio that makes files smaller than mp3 by omitting a lot of the audio data. but you must have the mp3PRO codec to replace the missing audio during playback. cooledit can convert mp3pro and probably goldwave also. and there is a mp3pro plugin for nero. do a google search for mp3pro to learn more.

  7. I'm pretty sure it's not mp3pro since I encoded a lot of them using the mpeg layer-3 or lame mp3 codecs myself. So how do I go setting up the mp3 lugin (step by step please, some of the settings are new to me in that software). Also , kind of aside, does anyone know how to set the project length in there. I have all thi sextra blank space that I don't want. File properties won't do it.
