  2. Most DVD players will not play mp3's on DVDR. I hear the Mintek 1600 DVD player at BestBuy for $50 does it. I have this player but never tried it yet.

  3. From what I've read here on the forums, it is rare to find a DVD player that will play DVD MP3 discs, even if they play CD MP3 discs.

That said, I own a Mintek 1600 and as some people here can attest, I simply will not shut up about its wonderful ability to play DVD MP3 discs. As I stated in another post today, I can't always use the software MP3 player on my computer when I'm working, and it's nice to pop a DVD of 1250 songs into my Mintek, hit shuffle, and enjoy.

So, if you want a DVD player that plays MP3s on DVD, I can recommend the Mintek 1600, $49.99 at Best Buy. It's also a very accomodating player that will play things that even my "nicer" Toshiba won't, plus it will play raw mpgs, which means no more converting to VCD/DVD if you don't want to!

(According to some, the cheaper DVD players are better at playing whatever freaky thing you throw at it b/c they use standard PC DVD drives, instead of developing a proprietary drive of their own -- but I can't vouch for that statement)
