  1. Ok i've been converting mov movies into mpg1 movies.

Now the mpg1 movies do not at all look as good as the original mov movies.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

I am using TMPGenc with the following settings:

    Motion Search: Highest Quality
    Bit Rate: 1150
    Video Source: Non-Interlaced (progressive)
    Source Aspect: 1:1 VGA
Video Size: 640x480 (like the original)

I do understand that I will loose some quality, but I'm trying not to loose much quality at all. The purpose of my movies is have them loop with windows media player on machine that do not have quicktime in a pro version so I can play them in Full Screen/Looping.

Does anyone have any suggestions or perhaps some more info I can read? I've searched over the forums and tried some little things but I can't seem to make it come remotely close to the original quality.

    Thanx!

Increase the video bitrate, to like 3000 or higher(test different). 1150 for 640x480 is too low.
