Suggestions PLEASE... for software!

Hi,

I've just purchased a Q-Tec 510F Firewire PCI card to use with my Sony DCR-TR7000E digital camcorder.

I know very little about capturing and editing but am determined to learn!
I'm itching to get started but don't know where to begin! My computer is up to the job and have loads of memory, so no probs there.

What I wanted to know was does anyone have any recomendations for good software for the job? Ideally I would like to be able to do everything with one program including photo slideshows (I currently use Ulead DVD Pictureshow 2 for this) - is there such a program?

Someone recommended Studio DV - is that as good as any? Or is there better?

Any help gratefully received - I'm really in the dark here!

Pinnacle Studio 8 or the Dv version, ot gives u all of the features, for an affordable price., u could get the dv version with the 1394 card or the program itself
