I just purchased a DVD drive (so that makes me a newbe) and it came with the Nero Smart Suite of products. While this suite of tools is nice, it does not meet all my needs. Looking for suggestions for software, ether a suite or individual packages that will allow me to:
Decrypt and capture my DVD collection to my hard drive and write back to DVD disk.
Convert these movies to a portable format such as Zune, PSP or iPod
Convert home movies that have been burned to DVD to a format that Windows Movie Maker 9.0 can read so I can edit them. For example, add titles, cut out unwanted material… then burn them back to a DVD. I’m not married to Windows Movie Maker so if something “better” is available, please suggest a title.
Prefer software that is free or inexpensive (less that $75.00 US Dollars).
I’m so new at this I may not even know what I need so if you veterans know what else I may need, will appreciate your suggestions.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Bennie

DVDFab to rip and convert to Zune,PSP,IpoD. Or if you want free tools you can rip to one VOB file with DVD Decrypter and then convert with free tools like the PSP Video9, Videora Ipod Converter or see our Tools list under DVD to MP4 or Portable.
Edit DVDs directly with MPEG Video Wizard instead of WMM.
