  1. Well, my site featuring VCD Intros is up. There are currently two Intros available, with more to be added soon.

Have a look at http://welldone.freehosting.net and tell me what you think.

    Cheers to all

  3. Hmmm, you're right caish5. A lousy beta-tester, myself...

Will try to work around this.

  4. OK, fixed it, it should work now.
Just make sure to read the new instructions on the left.
Also download Part 1 of the intros again, as file names are changed.

    Cheers

  6. I was working with WinZip 8.1 and thought that versions 7 and up would be compatible (as they feature spanning) but apparently they're not...

It's really annoying, this is all happening because the site host won't accept files bigger than 512kb.

Till I find a way to get around this whole sucking download proceduce, I can only suggest getting WinZip 8.1 beta form http://www.winzip.com

VingadoR, NTSC intros will be featured soon. But how could people download them is beyond me...

  8. I second the vote for NTSC intros & maybe downgrade to winzip 7 or some earlier version for compatability?

  9. First, thanks to everybody who visited my site. It had 340 visitors and 480 page views yesterday, great numbers considering there are only two intros on-line yet and it was the first day the site was up. Thanks again!

Now for some really good news. I have simplified the download/unpacking proceduce, you don't have to use WinZip at all. Have a look at the new instructions on the left side of "VCD intros" page at http://welldone.freehosting.net

Both of these intros will be converted to NTSC format and be available to download tomorrow. Also I might have a new intro (DVD-VCD, should be good for DVD-ripped VCDs) ready by then.

All feedback -good and bad- is very welcome, either here or through mail.

    Cheers

  10. I have tried and tried again BUT it still doesnt work for me there just to many errors......
Why dont you just put it in one god dam zip file.
or just put them in seperate zips with no unpacking procedure and we will just join them together ourself........

  11. Dazel, it actually works. Let's say you want to download "VCD Gold Jazz". You download all files in same directory but you don't open them. You delete ".zip" from all files, so now you have three files, which are "VCD_Gold_Jazz.exe", "VCD_Gold_Jazz.001" and "VCD_Gold_Jazz.002". All you do now is double click "VCD_Gold_Jazz.exe" and after you select the directory, the file is unpacked.

I'm sorry everyone has to go through all these steps, but it's not my fault. For a start the host won't accept any file bigger than 512k, so there can't be one file per intro. And then it won't accept any file with *.exe or *.001 or *.z01 or any other file extension except to *.zip. So I add the "*.zip" extension essentially to fool the host server, they're not actually zip files and that's why you have to take the steps described above.

Complicated, isn't it? Hope this explanation helps.

  12. Thanks Dude sorry for being angry before its just that it took ages to download them like 4 times

One more thing explain to dummies like me how to Remove the file Extension's from files, Please,

  13. Yeah I know, I had to upload 7 files totalling 2 MB, eight times since yesterday and I only have a 56k modem...

To remove "*.zip" from the files you downloaded, right-click on one and select "Rename". The filename is highlighted now. Press "End" (the button above Up Arrow) once and then "Backspace" four times. Now press "Return" and you're done. Easy, isn't it?

I surely hope after all this trouble you find the Intros worth it!

  15. Thanks very much for the intros. Would it be possible for you to change the VCD_Gold one by dropping the music and just have the sound fx and maybe extend it slightly to about 6 seconds?

  17. Well, this rename tip only works if
"hide files of these types" at windows explorer (view / folder options / desktop area) is unchecked !
