  1. I want to create a motion menu for SVCD using images, effects and transitions to make it look better than just changing from one still menu to another.

I am trying to do this with PREMIERE 6.5 but i dont know what settings to use. Do i have to set the project settings to those of SVCD (480x480...)? Or do i have to use another settings for my project (like dvd 720x480...) and then export the movie with SVCD settings? How can I export my movie to be encoded with CCE 2.5 and what settings i have to use in cce? Are there premiere svcd settings files available to be downloaded from the internet?

If you know of another way to do this (maybe using antoher program or a different method), you have done something similar, or you have suggestions or ideas, please tell me.

    THANX

  2. What I've done is made my Premiere project the same res as the DVD (720x480) and then made my edits and transitions. I then encode the mpeg by either frameserving the file from Premiere to TMPG or I make and intermediate avi(720x480) to encode later. Then I let TMPG do the resizing for SVCD (or CVD). I don't know anything about CCE, sorry. Just never tried it.

Just a tip: Try making the transitions between menus as intros that are part of the next menu screen. Then when creating the interactivity (I'm assuming that you're using VCDEasy, sorry if this isn't relevant), have the menu play once and on timeout, cycle back to an entrypoint after the transition/intro of the same menu, then let it "play forever"(of course assigning interactivity for PREV and NEXT or the number keypad). The is so you minimize the pauses or hesitations of the DVD player as it changes tracks. I got this from Adam's guide.

I find Pinnacle Studio 8 to be very good for motion menus on VCD and SVCD. Try that.
