this may not work for everyone so listen carefully and pay intention.
CHAPTER 1 : simply wanting to convert avi's (divx/xvid) 2 mpg but keep getting unexplained errors!
STEP 1 : make sure your mpeg settings are correct if not sure leave it as default or ask someone.
STEP 2 : make sure your avi file is in video source and the same for you audio source( importantly the audio source must be .WAV not others.
STEP 3: everything is set and ready to go but all of a second there's errors why? well the reason for that to my knowledge is beacuse tmpgenc doesn't like the conversion setting but it can be by passed and still convert at its best. the way around it is to keep continuously accecpting the error but keep trying to start the convertion and eventually it will give in and convert.just remember its not you why the conversion won't start.
CHAPER 2 : simply wanting to convert avi's (divx/xvid) 2 mpeg with TMPGENC but get a slight audio sync problem everytime
STEP 1 : there's been times when i use goldwave to get the .wav file from the avi movie and then tested the .wav file and then it for some reason was missing a sec or 2 to the orignal avi movie duration.to prevent this read on.u have to have virtualdub(latest version i have) open your avi file then go to the open tab then click save WAV. save your wav file to where ever.it takes about 3 minutes to process, the reason for it being so quick is because it becomes a crap .WAV file meaning that its not its really file size and it won't play properly, the only right thing about the file, is that the duration from the wav file is the same as the avi movie.now your thinking whats the point in all that but the reason for it is because all the WAV file needs now is normalizing.
STEP 2 : u have to get a program called BeSweetv1.4! this application can normalize the wav file u already have from virtual dub.simply open the .WAV file in the input bar and then open output icon to decide where u want the output file to go. it doesn't take long depending on your system.
STEP 3 : once done then open media player or winamp just to confirm that the .wav file has normalized also very important check the properties of the .wav to see if the file size has gotten alot bigger then normal size. open tmpgenc and do your conversion.
if there's a part u didn't understand get back to me ok
the best i could do to help
I'LL BE BACK
the end
