  1. Hello:

I have created an ntsc vcd using DVDx and Nero for watching it in Cuba (ntsc ).
I live in Ireland (PAL) and when I play it in 2 different TV boxes they play ok...... (????),
so I wonder if a Pal TV will play an NTSC VCD? I though my tv should be multisystem in order to play ntsc vcd but I don't think my ones are.
Is there any easy way to determine if the vcd created is truly PAL or NTSC?.

(by the way, they display ok in the tv when playing it from my DVD player and from my standalone portable CD-VCD-MP3 player)

    thanks for your time

Almost all tv's sold in PAL regions are multisystem. Even when your tv isn't multisystem, almost all dvd players sold in PAL regions can convert NTSC to PAL 60Hz, which almost all PAL only tv's can play. Basically, with very few exceptions, and NTSC encoded disk can be played on anything.

If you want to definitively check the region of your movie than play it in media player on your computer. For VCDs look in the mpegav folder and play the xxx.dat file. For SVCDs look in the mpeg2 dir and play the ...mpg file. Right click and look at its properties in media player. If its 25fps than its PAL. If its 23.976fps or 29.97fps than its NTSC. If its anything else than its non-standard.
