  1. Plz help! I am a relative newbie burning VCDs.

I have a Philips DVD701 and have wasted sooooooo many CD-Rs trying to create a VCD that will play in my DVD player.

I have been searching this forum for a while and have tried many of the recommendations made by posters .... but to no avail.

I have tried everything described on vcdhelp.com rather that descibe all that i have tried, is there an FAQ somewhere for creating VCDs that will play on the Philips DVD701?

the most common result is a disc that plays but rolls (sometimes it is black and white)

    what am i doing wrong??????

Sounds like you are playing back a PAL disc on NTSC equipment or vice versa.

If you live in Nth America or Japan, you will have to use NTSC for your VCDs.

If you live anywhere else, you should use PAL.
