Virtualdub will work fine with a DC10+, but you will be limited to MJPEG capture.

You will have to do some conversion to get it in any other format, and you will not be able to capture in any other format - it's a limitation of the DC10 hardware.

(at least that's what I understand, I have one and was not super impressed with it's flexability, so I got another capture card based on the BT8x8 chip, instead of the Zoran chip in the DC10+)

I would suggest you check out the capture card section for info on the DC10+ and see if anyone has any fresh workarounds for Vdub, or suggestions on another software for capture.

  3. Well the dc10+ uses Hardware MJPEG which is on the card itself which I do not mind using at all.. My card just does not show up in virtual dub for some reason :/

  4. Its should work ok. Can you "see" the card through Studio? If not you have some problems with the drivers. If so recomend get the reg cleaner from Pinnacle site to fully remove then reinstall.

  5. Yeah I can see the card through studio no problem..

When I go to Captaure in Virtual Dub this comes up

Although my Wintv theatre has been uninstalled for moths now :/

  6. Hum... Which version of Virtualdub are you running? Are you using Studio 1.02, 1.04 or 1.06? Or are you using 8 or 7?

  8. Hum. Sorry about the billion question but here are some more. Tnks for the answers on the others.

    1) Do you have any errors indicate when looking at the hardware list?
    2) Can you really record about 5 to 15 minuts of video under Studio 8? It may look ok but may fail under use.
    3) Did you uninstall the other drivers for devices that you are not using or just remove that device?

You should see an entry marke with Pinnacle DC10 in that Menu chart of VDub. As soon as my video computer finish will check which version of VDub I am using.

If you DONT get any recording then check the Studio 8 disk. There is a folder for DC10. Picked up a Studio 8 from Compusa sale this week and noted I had to physicaly go into that folder on the CD and run those driver to get it to work correctly.

PS: After getting thing correct you may want to download the update patch 8.5 from Pinnacle but only after getting things working.

  9. Heh, I think it might be easiet to tell me waht is the best way to install it

    Like
    1. Download studio
    2. Install it

etc etc. Then maybe that way, It will work through virtual dub.. Quite new to pinnacle stuff and I hear it is a real pain to install at times

  10. If you are using XP, VirtualDub can't capture from the DC10+. The XP drivers for DC10+ breaks compatibility with various capture apps.

Studio remains the best capture option for the DC10+ under XP, at least until Markus Zing releases his AVI_IO update for XP.

  11. Running VDub 1.4.x. There were some frameserving isues in 1.5 and one of its dll. So since all I need is frameserving just went with 1.4.

    Which os are you running?

One of these days need to get my correct email to Markus Zing. That is an outstanding program and is easer to set up and capture long programs in.

  15. Make sure you run the reg cleaner found on there site else will have problem. If you may want to just run the DC10+ install for now found in the DC10 folder. Then check with VDub and the Hardware for any errors. If you have problem may want to "shift" the card around.

    Good Luck!
