Any recommendations on freeware that will burn to dvd-r? Any instruction would be appreciated if the process in not intuitive.

As I posted previously I have been using Nero to burn and had not been able to play back on freestanding. Well I finally got it to work with nero express>video. Burnt road to perdition and one hour photo both played great on freestanding up until the last 1/3 then they locked up and became pixilated. I was able to play onehourphoto fine with powerdvd on my laptop -- but road had the same problem on both -- interesting. It seems it has to be the burning program. Maybe it is just the way i'm going about it. If anyone wants to vindicate nero I would be glad to hear how it works for you! Thanks for helping me pin down my problem. (Previous: smartripper>dvd2one>nero express>videos).
