Well I don't have your card, but I have one that has a tv out and the first thing I would ask you is to check your graphic adapter settings by right clicking on your desktop and going to properties and then selecting the far right tab "settings" then check out advanced and look for any adapter settings that allow you to have a clone pc view or output just via the tv out. (Clone is where both your pc monitor and tv display the same output, I don't know if ATIs have this).
The most important thing is to get an output on your tv screen, you can't record anything unless your card is outputting. To make sure, check your vcr and make sure that you have "input" as the source, and assuming that you connect to your tv via a coax input you will want it to be on channel 4 and you will want to press the tv/vcr button on your vcr remote.... but you probably know all this. I probably confused you more than i helped, hopefully someone with an ATI responds, I have an nvidia geforce2mx with tv out that's working fine, that's why I chose to respond, feel free to ask detailed questions if you need clarification. -
ok i went into option i have a circle and a pair of tv's under monitor when i hook up vrc to tv in the 2nd monitor option displays it too,do i set main monitor with the circle option or 2 tv option,or to i set them the same?i had it to work before do i need sound hook to it too?cant be that hard to do.and i dont have tv hooked to vcr jsut montior it worked before without tv hooked to it.this sucks

Well it's kind of hard to picture your setup without being able to see it, but of course I would say to try both ways, especially since you said it has worked before. it's too bad you don't have a tv to confirm... You don't need sound to record, but you need video... I would just say that whatever option you choose, make sure that you select 'input' as the source on your vcr remote. I say that assuming you are connecting to the vcr using the 'video in' input on the back (or front)
