hey guys, I just picked up an Artec 16x DVD-ROM drive from staples, and put it into my computer today, but Windows 2000 isn't recognizing it as a DVD drive, but isntead, only as a Removable Disk Drive. My Windows ME on the second partition will recognize it, and it is recognized in the BIOS, but not in Win2k
anyone have any ideas? thanks.

That's odd. I have the same DVD-ROM drive on my XP Pro computer with no problems at all.Originally Posted by pimp97max

checked them twice so far...and used slave as the jumper setting the first time, then Cable Select the second time, and neither worked...i have a DVR-105 as the master drive...it'll show as a DVD-ROM in WinME and BIOS, but Win2k just won't work...and if i try to update the driver manually to the default Win2k dvd driver, it says that it does not contain information about my hardware...anyone else have any ideas what i can do or possibly get a new driver or something?Originally Posted by IBJanky
