Here's the scenario:

I open a 480x576 PAL SVCD in WMP. The thing tries to download a decompressor, fails, but then correctly plays the video using the PowerDVD codec. I like the PowerDVD codec!

I quit WMP, then open *the same* SVCD in WMP. This time, WMP doesn't try to download a codec, but instead instantly starts playing the video using the Ligos MPEG-2 Decoder. This picture is also nearly twice as big, and when I check out the properties in WMP, it says the video size is 768x576, which is clearly wrong.

What is going on here? Why does WMP try to download a codec when there are already 2 working codec choices installed? Why does it choose Ligos? Why does Ligos distort the size? What's the best way to get rid of Ligos, so this never happens again?
