Hello,
I am trying to make a SVCD of this DIVX movie but it is corrupt. I have tried to reencode it but I am having no luck. Any idea how I could fix the avi or reencode it?
thanks

hi can anyone still help in how to remove corrupt frames using vdub....perhaps a guide.....thanks..

hey there. load your avi into vdub under video tab click scan for errors. when its done save as new avi. make sure you set your video/audio to direct stream copy.
-
thanks for an answer..but i did that already and when i save it as a new avi it saves it until the corrupt frame.....then from there the corrupt frame is frozen however the audio is still resuming....
thanks once again -
ok have you tried deleting the frame manualy in vdub and then saving as new? if divfix and the mentioned above dont work there is another way. if you know the exact frame that is currupt which should not be hard to find out. you could always save all data before fram as like 1.avi then save all data after fram as 2.avi then join the 2 segments back together in vdub. that is a long way around but if nothing else is working that may help. peace. let me know if you get it all worked out and what method you used. peace.

i have tried the method whhich ugave me two posts up again and now it worked however the audio and video were out of syncc....???.....plz lemme know if u know wat im doin wrong.....also i have not tried the long way yet ......thanks Once Again in advance

ok audio/video out of sync will be an easy one if it is out of sync the same amount of time throughout the whole move . what you do is load your out of sync avi into vdub. set audio and video to direct stream copy. now under audeo click on interleaving look down to where it says audio skew correction. use + values if audio is playing to early. use - values if playing to late. i always start with +-100 if it is just a tad off and go from there. you can preview the video in vdub after you set values to see if the sync has been corrected before you save the new file. it is trial and error just set a value play a bit of the movie to see if it is in sync. if it is not just keep setting the value untill you get perfect sync. when you have achieved this just save the now in sync video to a new avi file. good luck
