A friend of mine told me that a Raid 0 array would help with the frame loss I get when I capture my vhs movies to the pc. Has anyone installed a Raid 0 array and seen an improvement or know someone who has? I'm using the Dazzle 80 device to connect my vcr to pc via usb ports. Thanks.

No. RAID won't help you. The 80 is limited by the USB bus speed - generally averaging around 5-6Mb/s. First make sure nothing else is on the USB. Then make sure no other programs are running. Antivirus software is a common culprit. For the device's limited 352 x 240 resolution, you should never need more than 3Mb/s anyway - any higher than that and you'd never see the difference. And you could probably get away with 2Mb/s.Originally Posted by perdomot

Thanks for the info Jester. I've got a 7 port USB hub with my printer hooked up to it and Norton's Antivirus running. I'll try your suggestions and see if there's an improvement.

AHA! The hub may be a no-no. If just disconnecting the other stuff doesn't work, try it with only the device plugged directly to a USB port on the PC and see how that works.
