Does anyone know ways to get around this? Everytime I try to record a DVD onto VHS it messes up...Any help would be appreciated!

There are also lots of other auctions for these players at ebay. This one is really cheap. -
You may want to deal direct with the vendor rather than take a chance with the eBay lottery.
We've struck a deal with the vendor so that our visitors get them as cheap as chips - see our DVE611 price guide here or our DVE612 price guide here. The 612 is the newer model of the two (the 611 is actually from 2001, the 612 from 2002).
Note we make no money from this arrangement - just part of the friendly Area 450 service we offer to Sampo fans (new and old !).
Note you must go for the DVE612, not the newer DVE612(N) - the latter cannot be made VCR friendly.
