When using TMPGE to make my mpg, I don't like using the "Center" or any other options in the "Video Arrange Method" on the Advanced tab. They don't come out right. I have been somewhat successful in defining my own aspect ratio size based on the original aspect ratio of the movie. I would like to know:

Isn't there a mathmatical equation or some calculation to correctly increase the aspect ratio of a movie while keeping the original proportions? Adding 100 to each pixel doesn't give the right picture size. I want to know how to increase the size and keep the picture looking right.

    **NOTE: I am making SVCDs

The normal setting for this is full screen > Keep aspect ratio
The output will be proportionally correct, if you want to experiment, then use clip frame functions, the preview is showing what it looks like!, udjust the values until it looks they way you want it to look

KingJohn, this helps a little, but TMPGE gives the following options for Full Screen:

    Full Screen
Full Screen - Keep aspect ratio
Full Screen - Keep aspect ratio 2

    Which one do you suggest?

Also, your comment about using clip frames to see what it will look like is a great suggestion. Thanks!

Don't use Full Screen as it doesn't keep the aspect ratio of the file. Use either one of the Full screen, keep aspect ratios'.
