I recently obtained a Xvid conversion of a movie that has a bitrate of about 830kb/s (basicly one CD = 90 minutes). Should I bother with a DVD bitrate, or do you recomend SVCD or VCD in this case.

do whatever you want with it ... what looks good to you ..
if you want best -- just watch it as is on your pc .
if you have a dvd burner - convert it to dvd
if you have a cd burner - convert is to svcd (if your dvd player can play them) -

I understand that. What I'm wondering is how much better Xvid compression is. Is it going to be fit for a SVCD bitrate or a DVD bitrate?
