  1. I know that 23.976 fps to 25 fps is possible and I have read the guide, but from what I heard, u cant go from 29.976 to 25. I live in the pal region so is there a way to make my films pal and doesnt have that jerky play problem?

TMPGenc should encode to 25fps without jerky playback. Have done loads myself. However if you are having probs:

    In virtualdub:
    1) use virtualdub to save out wave at 44100hz
    2) Select audio no audio
    3) Select video - direct stream copy
    4)Select video - framerate - change to 25fps
    5) Save as avi (new filename)

    In wave editing tool:
    1) open wave sound
    2) do time stretch /compression:
for 23.976fps to 25fps you compress sound by 25/23.976*100= 104.271%
or compress it to 23.976/25*100= 95.904% of it's original length
(same thing, depends what editing software you use for what figure u use)
    3)save wave, new filename

    In virtual dub again:
    1)open new avi (25fps)
2)Go to audio - WAVE audio and open the new wave
    3) Check sound syncing and frameserve to TMPGenc (or save this avi, direct stream copy both audio and video, then load to TMPGenc)

TMPGenc no longer does the framerate conversion so no jerky playback.

  5. so changing the frame rate also changes the length of the movie?

would I be able to escape this if I live in the pal region? some ppl say that the dvd players in the pal region are usually multi-regional anyways, is this true?

Changing framerate will change length of movie. I'm in UK also and have a dvd player that will play ntsc 29.97fps and 23.976fps BUT my tv will not accept the input, only get b/w shitty picture. Read your manual for your tv to check whether you can accept or change the signal to accept ntsc. Why not try a test vcd, say a 30 second clip and run it. will only cost you one cd...........
