Ok I got a 1.23 GB MPG file right and want to make a vcd
now I know it will take 2 vcd's no problem. So I use Tmpeg to cut the mpg in half. Well I do this fine but then when I use nero I get all types of errors loading the file in. so I burn it and the dvd player reads it fine but shows no pic or audio.
What is the easyest way to spilt a MPG file.
Thanks
matt

I just used VCDcutter to cut a small section of a video to tag onto the end of another. Unlike TMPGenc, the resulting cut is VCD compliant (Nero does not complain), however, it is much less accurate than TMPGEnc.
Anyone know of a good VCD editor that is frame accurate? -
TMPGEnc is fine for splitting your mpeg into parts. However, after splitting, you should take each of the parts and separate (demux) the audio and video using TMPGEnc MPEG tools. Then use bbMpeg to re-mux them as VCD-compliant. This might possibly convince Nero they are compliant.
If you are looking for another program to do the cutting, you might try VCDCutter or MyFlix (check out the EDIT section of this web site). I believe that at least MyFlix is frame accurate, and claims to produce VCD-compliant files.

I have used tmpgenc to cut mpg's without a hitch. Nero saw them as compliant, and they played fine on my apex. I've been using version 12a.

Ok guys I am really stuck
I started with a 1.2 gig file
it is fully compliant to load into NERO Problem is it is to big so I cut it in 2 peices the 1st peice is perfectly compliant. but when I cut the second peice nero says it isnt compliant?????WTF????
What am i doing wrong???
I have tried all 3 cutters vcd cutter myflix and tmpeg
all do the same thing cut it fine and it plays fine but when I try to burn it it tells me this
Analysis of the file found
- stream encoding which is invalid for Video-CD
-Video: 23,976 frames/second, 352x240 pixels
-audio 44100 Hz, 2 channels
Where is my problem and how do I fix it please.
thanks so much

For VideoCD, your stream can be:
352x240 @ 29.97 Hz (NTSC)
352x240 @ 23.976 Hz (FILM)
352x288 @ 25 Hz (PAL)
Also, the file should be CBR (constant bitrate) ~1150 kbps.
The audio should be MPEG-1, Layer II @ 224 kbps with one stereo or two mono channels.
Have you tried splitting with TMPGEnc, demuxing, and remuxing with bbMpeg?
