  1. Hi,

When I encode AVIs to MPEG1 in batch mode, some AVI files get the 'Read error occurred at Address....'.

If I reencode them, it encodes fine. Any ideas whats wrong here?

Does that mean there is some issue with my RAM? Is there any utility to test RAM?

    Regards,
    Viru

    Here is one such message:

    C:\video\09-22\scene'20020922 12.13.47.mpg

    Video: C:\video\09-22\scene'20020922 12.13.47.avi
    Audio: C:\video\09-22\scene'20020922 12.13.47.avi

Result: Read error occurred at Address 0048429D of module 'TMPGEnc.exe' with 05679EAD

  2. a silly question but have you tried deleting tmpgenc and reloading. I had this problem on a particular version (think it was 2.5) and since I changed to 2.58 I don't get this now.

    Hope this helps

  3. I tried 3 versions of TMPG. Didnt help.
    I observed a funny thing.

I started System Monitor for memory page faults and other memory counters.

Started TMPG to encode. I did get that ''Read error occurred at Address...' message. At the moment moment I got the error, the Page Faults shot up to 100%.

I got 512MB and a 128MB memory sticks. Any ideas why my Page Faults shot up to 100?
