Hi guys. I have here in my HD the movie that i made in my girlfriend's birthday and i want to encode this in the best way so she can watch in home.
She has a good PC, but without TV Out and no standalone DVD Player, but her father has an old LaserDisk player and in it's tray is written "CVD"...
So i really can burn a CVD and trust this will play in that LaserDisk player, or it's just a dummy trip?

The best thing to do would be to create a fully compliant CVd and try it. I would suspect if it is CVD capable that there would be an approximate 4 3/4 inch recess in the tray, kind of like there is a 3 1/4 inch recess in todays computer CD trays for the mini-CDs.

Most likely, what you saw was "CDV". This is not the same thing as CVD.
CVD, which you are thinking of, is a variant/alternate of SVCD. Digital disc, MPEG2 VBR encoded video of 352x480/576 resolution.
CDV is/was a weird hybrid disc since from c.1987. It starts out from the inside of the disc like a std. Audio CD and has a couple of songs. Then, midway through the disc, after it is "closed", there is an additional section that is burned onto the disc--not with digital bits, but with analog, Laserdisc hill-and-dale waves. Somewhat similar in a way to an Enhanced CD. CD portion would play in any CD player (and digital-capable Laser players). LV portion played only in Laserdisc players. There was a "single" version the size of a CD, and an "Extended Play" version ~ the size of an 8" record.
Also, Laserdisc players have never been manufactured with additional VCD/SVCD/CVD capability only. Pioneer waited until there was critical mass and then and only then came out with models that included additional DVD capabilities (with VCD/CVD/SVCD as tagalong subsets).
Anyway, it is NOT possible to burn discs in this format. They can only be factory stamped.
I think it would be far easier to buy your girlfriend a DVD player (perhaps for Valentines day?). Then you could burn in the usual manner.
