Ok I've taken my dv tape and put it on my hard drive through pinnacle, I have a mpeg2 file so how do I get it to vob format to burn onto dvd? I'm using nero, going through the wizard and selecting dvd ?

I would avoid using Nero to encode your video before burning it to DVD. If it were me, I would load your MPEG file in to TMPGEnc, select the DVD template and the encode it. I would then give the resultant file to Nero to burn.

What version of Pinnacle Studio (I guess it's Studio) ?
Pinnacle Studio 8 and DV home video editing (ver.9 already home) -
If he's already converted the DV to mpeg2 them there's probably no need for Tmpegenc, just throw the mpeg2 file into an authoring program like Ulead DVD MovieFactory or one of the many others.
