Hi, after much trial and error on why this player will not play vcds, I found a post in the dvd player compatibility guide about a firmware upgrade and fooling the player into thinking it is playing svcds. Well the firmware thing is crap so I tried the svcd thing. It works! My question is cant I just encode the avi as an xsvcd instead of encoding to mpeg and then reencoding to a svcd. Another question would be why when I load a 23.97 movie into TMPGEnc it has the inverse telecine option checked. It is already 23.97.

  3. Maybe if you would have waited more than a day and a half, someone would have responded You have a lot of folks on holiday travel right now. Apex players made after about February of 2001 lack VCD support. You can check out www.nerd-out.com for more info about your player and reading the serial numbers to determine when it was made.
