  1. I have a Gainward Geforce 4 Ti 4200 graphics card with a VIVO connector. I finally figured out how to get the card to capture video in since it doesn't come with much in the way of instructions.

I was quite impressed by the card as it has exteremely high settings and low settings depending on your needs. It also does a great job of capturing the video.

I tried WinCoder that came with the card and it worked. But near the bottom edge their was a distinctive bar accross. It was maybe a few pixels high and a few pixels above the bottom edge. I could see it in the preview window. I tried Vegas Video and the bar seemed to be broken up into separate bars so it wasn't as noticeable but still it was on the otherwise perfect capture. I was capturing from a Sony Digital Camcorder.

What could be causing that and is their any way to get rid of it?
Not only am I perfect but I'm Canadian too!

  2. How did you get your Wincoder to work? Ever since I installed the capture drivers for my card, I get the infamous Windows error message where it asks me to either send or not send the information to Microsoft. I have the same Gainward GeForce 4 Ti4200 card you have with Wincoder 1.8. I'm using Windows XP on an Athlon 1900 XP. The drivers for the card are 3.0.8.2. The wdm capture driver is 1.1.9.0. The rest of the capture drivers are 1.1.1.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  3. not much help for the second guy, but just an idea for the first. Re-encode it with TMPGenc, cut on and set the clipping option, probably with a black mask color, and set it just high enough from the bottom to cover the marking.

I have had similar problems with white lines from the top that seem to be a binary counter (just a guess). and so I clipped the first couple of lines in TMPGEnc and it looked great.
