After splitting an mpg file in Tmpgenc, the subtitles simply vanished on the new smaller mpg file. How come?? I can't find any answer to this problem anywhere.

My best guess would be that the subtitles were a seperate file, not part of the actual MPG permently.

You are right... thanks. I didn't manage this time to include the .ssa subtitles in the mpeg.

tell me, please, about, *.ssa subtitles.
I have the same problem. It seems that you discovered the problem, but I did not, unfortunately.
I ripped a subttitle with Subrip from a dvd, in bmp format, than I converted also with Subrip to Philips Svcd designer format (*.sub).
I multiplexed it in the mpeg stream with Win submux, and then I split the file with tmpgenc.
I burned it separately with Vcdeasy and I donīt have any clue why I donīt have the subtitles.
Any idea why? Please...
