  1. Ok, I am pretty much a newbie at this stuff, although after spending the last couple of days going through all this junk I have deffently built up somewhat of a knowledge to it. (sorry this might be a bit long)

The problem I am having is after buring the SVCD and play it in my Samsung 709 standalone DVD player, it will recognize it, but then it will start jumping immediatly and then just stop playing (almost like its locked up). It will play on my computer just fine. I used the Divx to svcd using DVD2SVCD guide by LeeBear (good guide except for this part haha) to do the entire process of converting the file and all that jazz.

So I am confused now, according to the posts in the DVD Players guide for my machine, I have the CDS that i need to burn with, and apperently people can do it, but I cant figer out how. Any help at all on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  2. Hi
I to have a Sammy 709, the best way for SVCD is:
    Rip with smartripper
    Framserve with DVD2AVI
Use TPGENC to encode but USE THE WIZARD TO MAKE A STANDARD SVCD DONOT CHANGE ANY BITRATES OR USE VBR
and thenburn with nero as svcd

Sorry for shouting but the Samsung 709 only likes standard VCD and SVCD so if you fiddle with the bitrates it comes out like crap and skips and jumps .

  4. you do not need a DVD Burner to rip DVDs. You just need a DVD-ROM driv.e
