I'm new to the video end of computers so please bear with me !
I just bought a new Canon ZR40 Mini DV recorder and have done a little taping and want to be able to burn it to a CD. I edited the clip last night using Ulead's Video Studio that came with my firewire card and cut the section I want to a AVI clip. I was going to burn this two minute video to a CD then noticed it was 780 MB !
Can anyone point me to a simple walk-thru that tells me how to convert this down to a managable file ?
I have Nero and Roxio software plus the Ulead I described before.
Thanks !

...suggest you use TMPGENC. Check to 'HOW TO', 'CONVERT' section/s in the left of your screen. You should be able to find more help in there.

You have three options:
1- encode with TMPGEnc to mpeg-1 for a VCD or mpeg-2 for SVCD or DVD
2- export the edited DV avi file back to tape and leave it on a DV TAPE
3- or, ideally, do both! VCD or SVCD will never be as good as the original DV file
Hope this helps,
