  1. Starting a new thread as I couldn't involve ppl. with PVR knowledge last time.

I have MPEG2 file(s) generated by PVR-250. Ulead VS accepts it as template. So far so good. And I want, it rerenders only transitions/effects, like it should with Smart render. What it really does is to rerender everything. Result is quality loss (no visual difference for first rerender tough), time loss (about 4 times of video length on my system grrr...) and bigger file, as max 8000 means avg 7200 for Ulead, not 6400 as my file.
I recorded a clip with exactly the same settings as Ulead uses (avg. 7200 kbps). Dropped it into project. Still rerenders everything. So, I at least know, avg. bitrate is irrelevant. Allowed it to rerender entire file and dropped the result as source. Now it works as expected!!! Ulead shows exactly the same properties for all files.
If it can't be stopped to rerender everything, buying MS6.5 DC would be lost $200, I can't afford. Another thing is that MS is the only software, offering features, I need for affordaple price.

Are files generated by PVR incompatible with Ulead Smart Render? Is patch needed ? (After installing a patch, VS refuses to start, reporting securiti information error) Or something else?

    Please help!

  2. Epo,

Have you found a solution to this. I have come up against the exact same problem, i.e. no smartrender. I wanted to use VS6 for trimming and editing out commercials.

  3. I'm currently using drivers pvr48_15_20303. Not the newest, but these work perfectly for me and I don't have time to test the others. Have tested only 1 file in VS, since driver update. It works now!

  4. Sorry I missed this post earlier- See my answer to your previous one:

I've got the latest (non-beta) drivers installed. It works fine for
cutting out commercials (frame accurate) in my SVCD captures.
Be sure to use your mpeg that you plan to edit as the source
of your VideoStudio profile settings. DO NOT cut/edit the captured
file in any other software before editing in VS.
