You can easily convert these files back to DVD compliant files. There are several guides describing methods of doing this under the convert section on the left of this page. However, they will not be the same quality as the original DVD. Basically you can't improve on your source material. So if the divx is good quality (close to DVD quality) then converted to DVD format the quality will be comparable to the divx, maybe even good enough to justify the use of a DVD. However, if it is a low quality divx in the 1st place (and quality of divx conversions does vary hugely) then the dvd compliant version will be just as bad.

In my own experience, if we talk about a movie of around 2 hours long, then a divx conversion that requires 2 cd's will probably be good enough quality to justify a DVD conversion. If a 2 hour divx fits on one CD then SVCD or even VCD is probably the way to go.

Of course quality is a very subjective matter and this is just my opinion, others may agree or disagree. In the end its up to you as to wether it is worth the effort or the cost of the media!

As I said, its pretty much down to you to decide. If it looks good enough to you on a 21 inch monitor the you will probably find it acceptable on a larger TV in DVD format.
