  6. Does your burner write anything at all? That is, are your blanks, still complete unwritten afterwards?

It doesn't sound like you have problems with your discs -- it sounds like a hardware problem.

Firstly, are you sure all the cables (e.g., IDE or SCSI) cables inside your PC are secure?

    Regards.

Does your burning software have the options "test", "test&write" or "write"? If so, check witch is active.
Seems to me that you are trying to burn with the "test" option enabled. If so, blank CDs is all youŽll gonna get...

Try to erase a CDRW disc to see if you can. If you can erase the disk, the burner is OK and it's the software problem.

don't discount the discs entirely, though. another forum member had similar problems, which, based on countless questions and answers, i swore was hardware related.

several weeks later he reported it was an entire batch/spindle of discs that were bad. rarely happens, but it does happen...

  11. tried burning a standard 74-min cd? my hp7500 had the same "blank-disc"-problems before i updatet it to a sony via firmware. when i tried to burn >78mins, the disc kept blank. your problem sounds similar to this. so, go on and try to not overburn a 74min cd (e.g with only 300 megabytes or so)
