That depends on what format your subs are in, in the first place. If they are in .SSA, you can specify which font (and size) to use. What happens next depends on in which format you want for your final movie. If you're using VirtualDub, then use Gabest TextSub filter to add the subs. For creating (S)VCD, then frameserve to your fav MPEG encoder.

  4. What you need to do then is download 'Sub Station Alpha'
the program that produces .SSA format subs and then load your
    .SSA file into it.
Then you can change the font size the colour and allsorts of other
goodies.Save your subs as a new .SSA file and then frameserve
from Avisynth to your mpeg encoder.

I'll post the script that can do this later...i'm still at work!

No need to use SubstationAlpha, as you can edit the ssa with Notepad:
    [V4 Styles]
Format: Name, Fontname, Fontsize, PrimaryColour, SecondaryColour, TertiaryColour, BackColour, Bold, Italic, BorderStyle, Outline, Shadow, Alignment, MarginL, MarginR, MarginV, AlphaLevel, Encoding
    Style: Foo,MS Gothic,72,65535,65280,65535,0,0,-1,1,2,4,2,30,30,30,0,128
As you can see, the SSA has comments that tells you what field does what.
Now, every time you use foo as Style for a text, it will be in MS Gothic 72pt.

PS! If I had to choose just one app to use for the rest of my life, I'd choose Notepad any day. DS
