I'm rather new to this so I hope someone can help me figure this out.
I've ripped about 15 dvd-r's on my pioneer 104. Each and everyone (regardless of the method i use) tends to pixelate, pop, pause, etc toward the end of each disk. I've tried different brands of blank media such as Memorex and Fuji and i always get the same results.
The curious thing is that each Dvd-rw I burn plays flawlessly.
Any ideas on the subject?
TIA

Sounds most likley to be an incompatibility between your standalone DVD player and DVD-r though its strange that DVD-RW play fine. Anyway I would suggest checking your DVD player on the list linked to from the left column of this page to see what other owners experiences suggest.
