  1. I just threw together a movie that is about 45 minutes long that contains, video, pics, music....

It crashes most of the time i try to run it, it takes 3 minutes to load the movie, and when i tried to burn it, it just flakes out in the rendering process...

    anyone have any suggestions..?

  3. Well, I have Pinnacle Studio 7, which is mediocore at best.

I was going to upgrade to Studio 8, hoping that it'd support WIDESCREEN (16:9) Encoding, but when my sales rep told me they'd decided to leave that feature out, I avoided the upgrade. I haven't had many problems with Studio 7, except it doesn't have a "burn" feature, and Studio 8 is a joke as the previous poster mentioned.

Studio 8 is essentiallya poor version of an upfdated Studio 7, and shouldn't be called an "upgrade", the biggest problem with Studio 8, and Studio 7 is the lack of 16:9 Ratio support, If I could find a freeware program that'd output to VHS through my DC10Plus card, and render in the 16:9 ratio, I'd use that before I ever touch Studio again. I have an AVI I rendered in M-JPEG and Studio won't take it, so I can't output to VHS before I copy it to my DMR-HS2 DVD Writer, and I can't play it on anythingother than a VCD, which is kind of anoying when you'd rather have the Video on DVD-R rather than CD-R.

Case and oint, Avoid Studio 8, if you ahve a "free trial" send it back, if not, I'd try using TMPGEnc and Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 (about $80.00 from Roxio's website, for VCD) and if you have a DVD Burner on the PC, try Nero (arouund the same price as Roxio) which is probably the best in this bunch of programs, I've not been pleased with Studio, and I won't be pleased with it until I have it working correctly.
