I have an Athlon 2000 XP system, 512 MB Ram, Windows XP Pro.
I recently purchased an ATI AIW Radeon 7500 card. I owned a Dazzle 150 USB capture device prior to this. I notice when I capture video through the same composite connection that I used to use for the Dazzle card, the ATI results are very poor. It looks fuzzy and hazy. The Dazzle Device captured nice crisp images. I tried copying a tape that I had capped with the Dazzle and compared the two. I was amazed at how bad the ATI cap was.
Am I doing something wrong? I set MMC to cap at DVD quality (8000) and the Dazzle was only capping at 6000.
Any help will be appreciated.
Bob

What version of ATI MMC are you using ?
You should upgrade to MMC 7.7 if you're not using this already. -
Might not be your problem, but the few ATI cards I've seen always made somewhat blurry captures. Half decent bt8x8 cards gave me better results for a lot less
Depending what you're encoding to, it might not be a problem anyways. Good luck

Jeez louise, moviegeek! Give up your day job reviewing films, you're ready to work as an IT administrator. That is the single most detailed and iformative post I've ever seen about installing an ATI capture card.
