  1. I just down loaded my first movie to my hard drive. Now I tried to play it on my windows player and the sceen is just black, but my movie counter show that the movie is playing. What do I need to do so I can see/hear the movie playing? Thanks!

  2. You need the correct codec installed to play the movie correctly. Try installing the nimo codec pack. This has most of the codecs you will ever need.

  4. You don't have to do anything.
You just leave the Codec Pack in any folder and the player will find it.

The nimo codec pack... is a zipped file
so of course you want to unzip it
then you will have an EXE file
probably called nimo.exe or something to that effect

    double click that
    and install it
    then reboot
and try watching your movies again

Do you have other movies or video files...?
Try them to see if its an issue with that particular file or all of them.
When you went into Virtualdub, did you...
File > Open > Movie.avi ? first before attempting to read Information?
