On some VCDs I have when I play them back on my DVD player , the timer on the front of the DVD tells me how long the VCD has been playing.
On many of my VCD this doesn't happen, and I just get a line of dashes.
How can I make a VCD always display the time played count on my DVD.
This is very handy for jumping for certain time points in the film.
I guess it is down to either the coding of the mpeg or the burning of the VCD. I have read through all the helps on Nero , EasyVCD, and TMPGenc without any success.
Can anyone help ?.

No, it's a player specific function.
You probably have one of those players that only show the time elapsed, etc., if you play the disc back without PBC (by either turning off PBC or by making VCD1.1). However, you won't be able to use chapters or menus then...

On my pioneer player, if i press play, play is displayed with no time information. If i press 1, to play track 1, time information is displayed.
